With a huge thanks to TOP Nutrition for their continued support of Highland Games and Strength sports, I am pleased to confirm the East Coast Heavy Events Championships 2017 will be contested at the Clans on the Coast Festival, Saturday 16th September 2017 at Nelson Bay Tomaree Ovals.

The East Coast Heavy Events Championships will again be contested by the best Highland Games Athletes and will be scored over the full event list. 9 Scoring events 17lb open stone - 40lb East Coast Stone -28lb and 56lb Weight for Distance - 16lb and 24lb hammers - 20lb Sheaf - Caber and 56lb weight for height. The Champion to be decided by the best performance over the full competition.

The event will again close with the East... Coast Dinnie Stone walk challenge. This event is a strength challenge where each athlete has 90 seconds to walk the two stones for maximum distance. The stones being 145 and 125kg (Yes lighter than the original Dinnie Stones but walked a lot further) Cash prizes will again be offered for the top three and this strength test is open to the public.
